Rider Terms & Conditions Form

Attire & Safety

• Riders must wear appropriate attire: long pants, riding breeches or jeans.

• Riders must wear boots with a minimum 1/2 inch heel (ex. paddock boots, rubber boots, cowboy boots).

• An ATSM-approved riding helmet is required at all times when mounted or when in an area with horses present.

• Limited schooling helmets are available for use; however, fit is not guaranteed. Adjustable helmets may be purchased at your local tack shop (ex. Greenhawk, Apple Saddlery).

• Riders under the age of 18 must wear a helmet at all times when handling a horse or when in the paddock.

Lesson Expectations

• Riders should arrive 30 minutes before their lesson to allow time for grooming and tacking up their horse.

• Early arrivals may be asked to wait until the coach is available to supervise and begin the lesson safely.

• Riders under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while on the property.

Payments & Registration

• Enrolment in a lesson program reserves a dedicated weekly lesson space for the duration of the session.

• Monthly installment payments are due on the 1st of each month.

• Lesson fees reserve a time slot within the program and are not based solely on attendance.

• In the event of lesson cancellation due to weather or coach availability, riders (or parents/guardians) will be notified by email. A makeup lesson will be offered within one month of the cancellation.

Acknowledgement of Risk

• I understand that horseback riding and equine-related activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to the risk of injury from riding, handling, or being in proximity to horses.

• I agree to follow instructions from the coach and staff for my safety and the safety of others.

Cancellations & Refunds

The first month/session payment is non-refundable once a rider has been enrolled in the program.

Mid-session withdrawals do not guarantee refunds, as lesson spaces are reserved in advance and are often unable to be filled once the session has begun.

Refunds or credits may be considered only in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the coach.

Missed lessons without sufficient notice are forfeited and are not eligible for refund or make-up.

Waivers & Safety

All riders must sign a liability waiver before participating in lessons or handling horses.

Parents/guardians must sign waivers for riders under 18 years of age.

Guests, spectators, or accompanying friends/family members may not handle horses unless permission has been granted and appropriate waivers have been signed.

No rider or guest may enter paddocks, stalls, or handle horses without coach supervision.

Safety around horses is taken very seriously at B. Fex Horsemanship & Equitation.

Respectful behaviour toward horses, coaches, staff, riders, and property is expected at all times.

The coach reserves the right to dismiss any rider or guest whose behaviour is unsafe or inappropriate.
